This was inspired a lot by cut glass by +Davenit

EDIT:

I've remastered this photo to make it fit for prints
Check out the following links:

Comparison between the old and the new version
Making of the new version

The newer version has got better dynamics, a cleaner look, less image noise.

Thanks very much for the comment.
Having a clear idea in mind and putting an adequate amount of time into its execution helps. Sadly this is one of the few works where I did that ;P

I had to rebuild it for prints and did the same steps that I originally performed... but somehow my added experience prevented me from failing :D ...seriously I was quite shocked to see the newer version was so much cleaner

heh, very cool to see you emulate the style. I see it like a younger brother (in terms of style/impact.) There's potential, but as of yet, it doesn't quite grasp your attention like *Davenit . Sharpness and quality are certainly to par, but there isn't really a message that the viewer can take away with them. (And that's not necessarily a bad thing, sometimes it's cool to just say... "woah") :)

I hold a certain respect for this shot, though, regardless of how it looks. The fact that you spent the time to do this, to keep experimenting, and not stop till you were done...it's all commendable. :salute:

I figured the simpler the water looks the more appealing it is because the human eye can process stylized and simple shapes faster

...but why patience? :) The idea came out of nowhere, within an hour I had the glass going, the setup was done in less than 10 minutes and overall it took me five hours including the post processing. Are you really THAT impatient?

youre welcome. anything that takes 260 clicks requires more patience than i think that i posess. but you never know...it might happen someday. patience is a virtue. ;)
